Satellite Events Open Workshops

Open Workshops

A workshop can be viewed as a mini-conference dedicated to specific topical area. As an example, a workshop may be dedicated to specific X (where X is in bio, astro, chemo, etc.), or to specific research and technical issues in data intensive domains. The goal of a workshop is to enable in-depth discussion of challenges, problems, etc. which are too specific for the main conference.

A workshop is considered open if the selection of submission to be presented at the workshop is based on anonymous reviewing by the workshop program committee.

The duration of a workshop may be either full day (at most 4 sessions) or half-day (2 sessions).

Similar to the main conference, a workshop may include invited lectures, tutorials etc. However, see section on organizational issues below.
